Hello! My name is Sofia Frank, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of New York City. I’ve been in practice for 11 years, and am an alumni of The Touro College Graduate School of Social Work. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, I am providing virtual sessions (telehealth) at this time.
Starting therapy is a courageous endeavor. You may be feeling stuck in a rut, having trouble managing stress, or struggling with your relationship with food. I specialize in working with adults and adolescents with eating disorders, anxiety and depression. I am also trained to help individuals and families with chronic illness, family conflict, grief, relationship issues, self esteem, school issues, and trauma and PTSD. I have experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and people diagnosed with mood disorders.
I am psychodynamically trained and integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I utilize Enhanced Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and provide Family-Based Treatment (FBT / Maudsley) to adolescents with eating disorders. I am also bilingual, and can conduct our therapy sessions in both English and Spanish
I have certificates in Contemporary Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, Family-Based Treatment of Eating Disorders in Adolescents: The Maudsley Method (Step 1), and DBT Skills Training: The Essentials (Behavioral Tech).
If you are interested in working together please email or call me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. Each therapy session can be paid with American Express, Cash, Discover, Health Savings Account, Mastercard, Visa. We will be able to verify your health insurance coverage when you arrange your first visit.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
