I (they/them) am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with passion and commitment to serve adolescents, adults, and partners throughout New York State. I work with a variety of people and seek to make therapy a psychologically safe space, especially for people who have historically been left out of therapeutic healing due to systemic forces, such as neurodivergent, gender and sexually diverse, consensually non-monogamous, individuals and partners, etc. Further, I bring an intersectional lens to my practice and seek to challenge systemic oppression and oppressive power structures.
I work with clients to collaborate on goals which may include but are not limited to developing further insight and awareness, harnessing self compassion, navigating relationship dynamics and interpersonal boundaries, managing mental health symptoms, improving communication, self advocacy and adjusting coping mechanisms.
I hold a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute and a Bachelors in Communication and Social Change and Political Economy from The Evergreen State College. I previously worked in a group practice in Northern New York as well as King Middle School in Berkeley, CA. Outside of work, I enjoy artistic pursuits, bicycling, dancing while cooking, reading, cheezy reality TV, organizing for social justice, and snuggling with my dogs, Douglas Fur and Sequoia.
I know that taking the first step in ones therapeutic journey can be vulnerable and take courage. Finding the right fit and navigating and negotiating a new relationship isn't necessarily easy. I like to connect to clients with authenticity, compassion, and respect, and invite you to come as you are. Please feel free to call or text me at (332) 237-7941 with any questions.
Before your therapy visit, check your coverage with our Peace of Mind Calculator, which estimates how much you'll be reimbursed once you hit your deductible or out-of-pocket max.
Remember superbills, those long invoices you got from your therapist? How about claim forms? You don’t need either of those. We’ll handle your claims electronically and file them for free.
Check the status of your claims with our free Client Portal, which gives you a real-time window into the reimbursement process so you don’t have to worry if the check is in the mail.
We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.
We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.
You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
