Hello! My name is Mary Guillermo, and I am a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist and a Licensed Professional in Cognitive Analytical Therapy based out of New York City. I have also been certified by The American Dance Therapy Association. Currenty, I am part of a telemedicine practice, so my therapy sessions are held online on our secure, HIPPA compliant video platform.
I support Black women, Indigenous women, and women of color who are living with depression, anxiety, and trauma. As a registered dance/movement psychotherapist, I address depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns using a combination of body-based creative expression, mindfulness practices, and evidence-based behavioral techniques (like cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy). My work is informed by my dance practice, which is rooted in Afro-Caribbean culture and ritual.
In addition, I am qualified to work with children (6 to 10), preteens, teens, and adults. As well as, individuals with learning disabilities, mood disorders, and sex workers.
I am a cheerful and empathetic therapist. I specialize in working with women, children, adolescents, and neurodiverse folks. I am also bilingual, and can conduct our therapy sessions in both English and Spanish.
I am in network CIGNA. If you have another insurance provider, I offer a teletherapy membership that includes weekly 45-minute sessions for $300/month. This membership also includes unlimited messaging within a secure client portal and access to a monthly workshop on topics related to BIPOC and mental health.

Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
