Lara grew up in Scotland and started her career in public relations where she developed a love for connecting with people and sharing their stories with the world. She has also volunteered for the National Sexual Assault Hotline, which she found to be incredibly rewarding and humbling. It was during this time that Lara realized she wanted to help and empower people to find healing, contentment, and purpose within their lives.
Lara earned her B.A. in the UK and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University, a program with a strong focus on psychodynamic theory and self-reflection.

Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
