Hi! My name is Dr. Jesi Sasaki and I am a licensed psychologist in the state of California and certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist working in private practice. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are struggling to manage behavioral and emotional problems. I utilize evidenced-based practices to help clients with behavioral difficulties, emotional dysregulation, depression, anger, anxiety, specific phobias, OCD and PTSD. I also specialize in parent training and support to help parents manage their own anxiety and stress as it relates to their parenting style. I am passionate about preventative care through educating children about mind-body wellness and teaching kids about socio-emotional growth through movement.
I began my work in psychology as an undergraduate student at Occidental College where I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Japanese. It was here, playing soccer at the collegiate level, that I realized the importance that team sports and physical activity played in harnessing essential life skills for success.
I completed my dual master’s degree and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Hawaii School of Professional Psychology (HSPP) in 2011-2017. I then completed my pre-doctoral internship at San Mateo Medical Center in San Mateo, California from 2016-2017. I decided to move back to Los Angeles to complete her post-doctoral residency at Rich and Associates in Los Angeles, California where I stayed as Licensed Psychologist for one year.
Although my training and academic background allowed me to be at the forefront of evidenced-based treatments, I felt the traditional approach to child therapy was lacking in its ability to apply to the changes outside of the office. This is when I decided to leave the safety of traditional therapy and venture out to pursue my passion of pioneering a new field of therapy through preventative care, education, and using the concepts of team sports to teach and apply life skills to children and retired professional athletes. In addition to my license as a clinical psychologist, I went on to become a certified personal trainer and a certified nutritionist to further pursue my passions.

We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.

You only need to make sure we have your most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!
Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.
Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.
Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.
You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.
Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
We’re glad to answer any questions you have. Email us at help@meetnirvana.com and someone from our Help Desk will reach out to you.
