J. Ryan Fuller

PH.D.

Hello! My name is Dr. J. Ryan Fuller, and I am a psychologist based out of New York City.

When life gets taken over by anxiety, addiction, depression, jealousy, frustration, or anger, it can be hard to know what to do. You’ve started feeling so bad that your relationships, work, and daily life are impaired, and nothing you've tried has worked long-term. As a clinical psychologist extensively trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I have seen countless clients improve over the years with these techniques. I have helped clients meet their goals with anxiety, anger management, addiction, weight, depression, loneliness, relationships, attention concerns, career challenges, obsessions, and compulsions.

I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and groups work through anxiety, addiction, and eating disorders. I am trained to work with children (6 to 10), teens, adults, and elders (65+). As well as people diagnosed with Borderline Personality, Chronic Impulsivity, Internet Addiction, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Elderly Persons Disorders, Impulse Control Disorders, Mood Disorders, and Personality Disorders.

In therapy, you and I will work to reach your goals efficiently, cultivating motivation, and improving your sense of control. I treat a variety of issues, but I'm consistent in my approach. It is crucial for you to feel comfortable. We will collaboratively set goals that make sense for your life and move toward those targets.

I believe that once emotional symptoms, like anxiety and anger, have diminished, adding positive emotions and building on existing strengths can help prevent relapse and improve life satisfaction. Therapy sessions are available through video or phone due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you are interested in working together please feel free to call or email me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. Therapy sessions can be paid with American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, Cash, Check or an ACH Bank Transfer.

FAQs

What can Nirvana do for me?

We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.

How does Nirvana’s mental health billing service work?

We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.

What do I need to do for Nirvana’s service to work for me?

You only need to make sure we have your  most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!

Can I check how much I will be reimbursed for therapy?

Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.

Once I start therapy, when will I be reimbursed?

Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.

Where will my reimbursement be sent?

Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.

How will I receive my reimbursement?

You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.

Can I track the progress of my claims as you process them?

Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.

I have a general question. Can I contact you?
