Hello! My name is Dr. Camilla Mager. I am a psychologist based out of New York City, and an alumni of The California Institute of Integral Studies.

The amount of energy you spend managing your food, your impulses, and your negative body image is unsustainable. It’s exhausting! You end up with a crumpled pile of clothing on your bed – a mound of misery that will have to be dealt with when you get home tonight. Still, you can’t stop. Another meal you just can’t eat… Another binge you just can’t resist. Another weight you have to reach.

Therapy with an eating disorder specialist recognizes that an eating disorder is about the food... and it's also not. It's both the food and the feelings - and both need to be addressed. Therapy identifies dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors, explores how your relationships can promote health or illness, and gives you concrete tools to manifest change.

I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and groups dealing with eating disorders, impulse control disorders, and trauma and PTSD. I am also qualified to help teens, adults, and elders (65+) deal with ADHD, anxiety, chronic illness, divorce, family conflict, obesity, sexual abuse, and substance use.

A few therapies I utilize in my practice include: Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical (DBT), EMDR, feminist therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.

What can Nirvana do for me?

We handle your mental health insurance electronically and file your claims for free. We also track the status of your claims and ensure they are processed correctly so you don’t have to worry about paperwork or making frustrating phone calls.

How does Nirvana’s mental health billing service work?

We work with your therapist to obtain all the information needed to file your claims. Then we file them electronically each week.

What do I need to do for Nirvana’s service to work for me?

You only need to make sure we have your  most updated insurance information. You don’t need to do anything else!

Can I check how much I will be reimbursed for therapy?

Nirvana has a free tool called the Peace of Mind Coverage Calculator, which estimates your reimbursement amount at the start of the calendar year, when your deductible has been met, and when your out-of-pocket maximum has been reached. You only need to enter the name of the therapist you’d like to see, along with your name, date of birth, and insurance information.

Once I start therapy, when will I be reimbursed?

Once you have met your deductible, your reimbursement will be mailed to you about 4-6 weeks from the date of your first eligible claim. In some cases, this process can take as long as 90 days.

Where will my reimbursement be sent?

Your reimbursement will be mailed to the address on file with your therapist and your insurer. We recommend verifying your address directly with your insurer.

How will I receive my reimbursement?

You will receive your reimbursement by check. Some insurers combine payments for multiple sessions and others send one check per session.

Can I track the progress of my claims as you process them?

Yes! We offer a free product called the Client Portal, which allows you to do exactly that. You may be invited by your therapist, but you can independently register here. With the client portal, you can view the exact status of your claims and reimbursements.
