About the Role

This role is for people who love data. Your role will require you to dive deep into data to uncover insights and patterns around how healthcare costs are determined as well as to build the foundation of our machine-learning operations at Nirvana. You will be at the ground floor of how AI models and its operations are built. You will be working with engineers to operationalize those patterns and scale it into our machine-learning models.

The Machine Learning (ML) Technical Product Manager will be responsible for driving the development and ongoing management of machine-learning models and data insights for our Coverage API, which determines therapy session costs and eligibility. The TPM will create and manage a repeatable data pipeline and reporting for ML in collaboration with Engineering.

The ideal candidate will have experience in defining data and annotation strategies, identifying the right use cases for ML, and has a prior history of delivering scalable production models.

Key Responsibilities

1. Define data, labeling, and annotation strategies for all machine learning projects.
2. Setup and manage data pipelines combining multiple sources of programmatic and user-labeled information.
3. Preprocess data to ensure proper format for ML models.
4. Evaluate and interpret data insights to inform the development of ML models.
5. Measure and adapt models for precision, recall, interpretability, and the ability to generalize new data.
6. Report on the success of ML models to stakeholders. 
7. Determine refinement strategies and requirements for integrating ML models into product features and behavior.
8. Document requirements and test cases with Engineering.

Requirements:

• Strong data and analytic skills 
• Strong competence in at least one data preparation tool such as SQL, Excel, Google Colab, Python/Pandas
• 5+ years of experience in product management in a hands-on role or data-intensive environment
• Strong understanding of ML-algorithms, in particular Supervised Learning models
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of delivering successful data pipelines and production ML products
• Knowledge of common open-source data science packages (e.g. Scikit-learn, numpy) is a plus
• BS or MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related is a plus

The ML Technical Product Manager should be passionate about the impact of ML, and loves being hands-on digging into data, as well as working with other PMs and Engineering to further integrate ML into our products.
